Even in the year 2022, we have to struggle with massive oppression by patriarchy worldwide. Whether at home, on the streets or in the labor market, everywhere we encounter discriminatory structures, sexist behavior and often violence, even feminicide. Every day, FLINTA (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people) have to take on unpaid care work and put up with low-paying jobs in all walks of life. For people who do care work, the living situation has worsened significantly. The pandemic isolates caregivers and care recipients. The costs of inadequate pandemic policy and lack of solidarity are borne by them: People with chronic diseases and disabilities, children and the elderly, as well as educators and caregivers, who are predominantly FLINTA. In particular, women in cis-hetero relationships are forced back into roles they thought they had overcome. Isolation leads to an increase in violence and invisible care work. In particular, queer people and Black, Indigenous, and FLINTA of Color, as well as homeless people, experience increased psychological distress and violence due to the closure of empowerment and shelter spaces.

The Covid-19 virus and the effects of the pandemic, like any crisis, hit poor FLINTA the hardest, as well as Black, Indigenous, and FLINTA of Color. This is based on the structural racism and lack of solidarity of fellow white people – unfortunately, even within the too-white feminist movements. The intersectional struggles of queer, especially trans, inter and non-binary people, Jewish, fat or disabled FLINTA as well as sex workers, are part of our movement and have to be actively included in our struggle!

The global North with its capitalist economic system is the main cause and profiteer of wars and climate crisis, from which especially FLINTA in the global South suffer. FLINTA all over the world have been rebelling against these conditions for a long time – against patriarchy and capitalism, against feminicide, against all oppression, wars, against the exploitation of people and nature. Despite the cruelty with which the system tries to suppress these struggles, they do not manage to extinguish them. Our strongest weapons: organizing and solidarity!

Feminism is resistance – fight back, organize, let’s live and defend our freedom together! Come with us on March 5 on the streets in Düsseldorf!

All gender welcome, but no macho behavior! The front part of the demo belongs to women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people (FLINTA).
